Loving God “with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind” is a lifetime journey (Matthew 22:34-40). The journey toward spiritual growth begins at relationship with Christ. When we experience authentic relationship with God we discover what He’s like. Experiencing His love, grace and mercy on a daily basis allows us to discover how we should relate to Him and to those around us.
“Loving your neighbor as yourself” implies that people matter to God (Matthew 22:34-40). Because people matter to God, they matter to us as well. Loving people is more than words. When people matter to us, it results in laying down our lives for people, whether they know Jesus or not.
Jesus said, “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one
another.” (John 13:35)
When we follow Jesus we’ll experience growth in our relationship with Him and others. (Hebrews 6:1; 2 Peter 3:18)
